You probably know that in previous academic year, the fourth graders decided to ‘adopt’ a tiger at the Bannerghatta Zoo/Safari as their efforts towards eco sustainability and saving the endangered tiger species. They were able to raise Rs 1.7 lakhs and create a corpus towards this endeavour.
The current fourth graders wanted to continue this ‘tradition’ and came up with the idea of setting up snack counters at the Celebration of Learning on Saturday 22 March 2014. This was after months of planning smaller initiatives that, for various reasons, did not see light of day.
This was a HUGE challenge, mainly due to the lack of time and the numbers to cater for. We saw at least 800 parents and friends on that Saturday!
The only way we could have pulled this off was with parental support and involvement. The fourth graders were able to raise a little over Rs 75,000 and were proud to hand over a cheque for Rs 1 lakh to the Bannerghatta Biological Park Director Mr Range Gowda. So Shreyas is Inventure Parker for another year!
