The Inventure Academy curriculum is learner-centric, that is, it focuses primarily on the student. Three stages of learning are identified - Emergent, Consolidating and Accelerated. The learning stage of the child is identified for each class. An Individual Learning Program, or ILP, takes into account the stage the learner is at, on the basis of pre-defined learning outcomes.
Formation of an ILP
Every student has an ILP based on observations, and formal and informal assessments of the achievements of these pre-defined learning outcomes. The learning, pace, interests, strengths, attitude and development needs of the child are critical to the creation of the ILP. ILPs for students with learning difficulties and for those requiring an accelerated learning program are assigned first. An ILP is drawn up after a discussion with the student, keeping in mind his/ her strengths and development needs. The child's learning is benchmarked against the ILP throughout the academic year. Assessments are reviewed with parents on a periodic basis, and also reflected in the student's progress report.
