Inventure Community

The core purpose of Inventure Academy binds its community together. We believe that parents and the community must engage with the school in an active partnership in order to help full realize the child’s potential. As a community we recognize our shared interests in and responsibility for the education and development of our children.

To further our community centric culture and strengthen this partnership Inventure focuses on a number of practices

1. Parent School Communication
Whole School Communication:
- At the beginning of the year we share our Quality Objectives with the parents. These objectives give a clearly defined and measurable roadmap to the achievement of our Core Values. At the end of the year we publish a report on our performance against these set parameters
- We conduct parent orientation programmes at the onset of the new academic year where we share our policies and curriculum practices and approach.
- We share the detailed school calendar with parents, which help them get a clear overview of the entire school year.
- As we close the academic year, we send out a detailed Parent Satisfaction Survey to get feedback from the parents on every aspect of the school.

Parent Teacher Communication

- The channels for parent teacher communication are manifold and happen through Parent Teacher conferences, written communication through the diary and email, on the telephone during school hours as well as daily through the Renweb- our school management system.
(The Renweb provides for teachers to post their lesson plans, worksheets, announcements for upcoming events, portions for assessments, assessment grades/feedback as well as a discipline log. This helps the parent get instant and continuous feedback on their child’s performance.)

2. Enhancing Student Learning
At Inventure we constantly strive to further our understanding of the children we teach.
- Our interactions with and feedback from the parents are critical in this process.
- We provide information on a weekly basis of what the child is learning at school.
- School work is sent home on weekends for the parents to review.
- We provide feedback to parents on how to monitor and discuss schoolwork with their child
- Have periodic assignments which are interactive and require students to demonstrate what they have learnt.
- We encourage students to set personal benchmarks and targets and share these with their parents and teachers.

3. Collaborating With the Community
- Inventure parents with their wide range of interests and skills provide a rich bank of resources to inspire, motivate and direct our students at different times- through guest lectures, as volunteers at school events, field trips, at reading programmes or projects that students are engaged in.
- Inventure Academy constantly taps into the wider community in order to enrich our students’ learning and wider world experiences- for the Internship programme, the life skills programme and career counseling

4. Positive Parenting
Inventure through its NURTURE workshops interacts with the parent community and explores with them ideas on positive parenting, helping them recognize and build upon their child’s strengths and providing them tools and information to help address emotional, social or educational issues.

We constantly work towards strengthening; examining and reflecting on our practices in order to create a vibrant, supportive and dynamic Inventure Community.
