Investiture Ceremony-2013

On the 26th of July, Inventure Academy held its Investiture Ceremony for the year 2013-14. It started off with the choir performing a melodious version of “World’s Greatest”. This was followed by the ceremonious “Lighting of the Lamp”. Then began, the official initiation of the school captains – the ones who will be leading the student body with integrity, honesty, and responsibility, to a greater future.

After the the insightful speech from the Vice Principal, Mr. Ramesh Hariharan introducing the Chief Guest Ms. Menaka Guruswamy and the traditional pinning of the badges and taking of the Oath, Ms. Guruswamy started her address to the school.  Ms. Guruswamy is a dedicated Supreme Court lawyer, who graduated from NLSIU, Oxford and Harvard who earned degrees in Law from all three universities.  She was a gold medalist at NLSIU, a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford and a Gammon Fellow at Harvard. Ms Guruswamy has taught in the Law School at New York University and will shortly take up an assignment as an International Visiting Associate Professor at the School of Law in Columbia University.  Ms. Guruswamy enchanted the audience with her sense of humour and words of wisdom. Having achieved so much at such a young age, she was a great inspiration to us all.

After sharing some of her experience of her exciting life, she was able to inspire many of us to share our aspirations and ambitions in an interactive question and answer session. The assigned 10 minutes flew by faster than ever and when the session was finally over, each student of Grades 10, 11 & 12 had reflected a lot more on their personal aspirations in life. This was truly a perfect finish to the investiture ceremony, officially inducting the school leaders for the academic year of 2013-14.
