Q: What made you decide on Inventure Academy as the school for your child?
A:" Inventure Academy offered the one ingredient so important but so sadly neglected in most traditional schools - focus on the personal learning style of the student rather than a "one-size-fits-all" philosophy. As parents of a child in middle school we felt it was more important for her to understand, analyze, question and then apply concepts rather than to mindlessly learn subjects by rote. In addition we were clear that we did not want her to be caught in a rat race towards the board exams while missing all other activities that make up a childhood. And Inventure Academy has so far met all our expectations".
Q: In your opinion, what does Inventure Academy offer that is different from other schools that you have researched/experienced so far? .
A: The teachers and the staff at Inventure have shown commitment levels that are hard to find in any other school. They have taken a personal interest to the extent that one teacher actually sent home a book that our daughter left behind so that she could prepare for a test!!
In addition Inventure offers an environment where both positive and negative feedback is welcome from parents and students which most schools do not encourage. .
Q: What are your current views based on your and child's experiences with the school so far? Mention any significant positive changes that you have observed in your child post Inventure Academy ?
A: Some of the positive aspects that we can see are
• Teamwork: We find a lot of emphasis on teamwork since many assignments are based on partnering rather than on individual work.
• Research and enquiry: Our daughter routinely researches topics rather than simply studying from a text book and has taken the responsibility of her learning into her own hands
• Positive exposure to technology: PowerPoint presentations, blogs, website maintenance, Wikipedia and Google search are well integrated into the curriculum so that the computer is used for more than just chatting and emails
