Meet Paul Francis – Nurtured at Inventure, Ready for the World.

What are you currently doing?

Currently, I live in Oxford, England. I moved here so that I could compete in motorsport against some of the best drivers in the world and improve my skills and techniques. I’m also homeschooling, self-tutored, so that I can be flexible with my A levels and do them at my own pace. I plan to do maths, further maths, physics and chemistry.

Which colleges do you plan to apply to and why?

I’d like to get into Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Imperial or the LSE. I haven’t decided yet on my course but maths, physics and computers really interest me. These universities are among the best in the world so they have a certain allure. Also I’d really like to live in a city independently, so the London universities appeal to me in that sense as well.

How has Inventure helped you achieve your goals thus far?

There are so many individual instances that I’d like to bring up but it would take too long to write! Inventure has supported me massively; the teachers were always ready to help me catch up or answer any questions if I missed work due to races or wanted to go ahead. They were paramount in me achieving the grades that I did, always going the extra mile so that I could improve. The sports department has also been one of the key factors, providing a welcome break from studying and ensuring that I kept fit and strong. The students created a friendly and supportive environment. Inventure makes sure you develop academically, but also improve personally. I have learnt many “life lessons” during my time there as well as skills such as time management, independence and how to have a thorough understanding of one’s subjects. I’ve always thought of myself as being part of the Inventure family and am proud to have gone there.

Why would you recommend Inventure to a friend/anyone you know?

There’s so much to say but to name a few reasons – Inventure provides a very well rounded experience, the faculty are friendly and welcoming and the infrastructure of the school is world class. You can have a very enjoyable yet productive experience at school.

Why would you recommend Inventure to a friend/anyone you know?

I’d say my top achievement would be the 8 A*’s and 1A I got at IGCSE doing them a year early. I usually did well in the standardised exams (ASSET/Olympiads) getting above 98thpercentile. I’ve represented the school in football, athletics and chess as well as my house (NURTURERS FTW!) and have won a few medals.

How have you built/used what you learnt at Inventure… how has the Inventure experience helped you in college/life?

I took part in many activities – for example the RaspberryPi. It’s a device that can perform cool tasks once programmed and has encouraged me to learn more about coding. I’ve learnt so much during my time at Inventure, have grown tremendously (both figuratively and literally) and am more equipped to take on the world.
