Overview

The Teaching - Learning Process
At Inventure Academy, our focus is on making learning at school more meaningful. Our students use their knowledge to solve real problems embedded in their immediate context, thereby consolidating their conceptual understanding and developing skills of application and problem solving, and acquiring the ability to analyse, synthesize and critique..

Questioning and thinking out of the box is important to our teaching - learning process. The school's curricular framework encourages Inventive Thinking, guiding children continuously to engage in inquiry, reflection, communication, and application of their learning in wider-world situations.

Our methodology is multi-pronged; it encompasses the diverse ways in which children learn, both individually as well as collaboratively.

We begin each year with ‘Inventuring’, our project-based foundation programme which aims to discover each student’s preferred learning styles, strengths and development areas. The environment and shared teacher-student activities encourage thought and learning, before they meet in the more formal space of the classroom.

At the Primary level, we follow an Integrated Thematic Curriculum based on NCERT (National Council of Education Research and Training) through both ICSE, and CIE guidelines. The integrated themes facilitate a sharing of ideas, and a sense of community through experiences derived from a child’s interactions with nature, people, objects and the environment. Learning goals are age-specific, and assessments extracted from observations, projects, activities, worksheets, research and presentations, and weekly reviews.

Middle School sees an experiential, inquiry-based approach, with a curriculum based on guidelines provided by the ICSE, & IGCSE. Children are encouraged to explore subjects in depth, and in parallel, which often culminates in integrated projects.

In Secondary & senior Secondary (High) School, academic rigour, varied prescribed reading and supervised forays into the Internet stimulate, synthesize and co-ordinate learning. Students are guided in their preparations for their ICSE, IGCSE and A/AS level board exams.  Assessments are internationally benchmarked. The Wider World Programme which comprises student internship and community service, drives home the endeavour of making learning more meaningful and relevant to the student's future.
