Profile
Shaheen brings to Inventure Academy a spectrum of experience in diverse domains of education. Her 12 years of experience spans across teaching; training; curriculum development; program design; working on vision, pedagogy, recruitment and teacher enablement for start up schools; creating Teacher Training manuals for a UNESCO sponsored project; and writing books for children.
Professional Experience
Shaheen has worked in leading schools in Delhi, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, where she has taught English, History, Life Skills and Computers to Middle and Senior School students. At Springdales School, she was heading the Teacher Resource Centre, where she was in charge of the in-house training of an over two hundred strong faculty. Her focus was on Creativity in Education and Multiple Intelligences. She was part of the core team that conceptualized and set up the Middle School at Ekalavya School Ahmedabad.
Her last appointment was as Senior Faculty at iDiscoveri Education -a social enterprise with a vision of revolutionizing education in India. Schools and projects she worked with include: leading the Junior Program Curriculum Design and part of the teacher development team at Heritage School, Gurgaon; Strawberry Fields World School Chandigarh, Pushp Niketan School Dhampur. (Areas of focus included Engagement and Design, understanding learning outcomes, thematic integrated planning and assessment.) She led the Life Skills Program for students at Modern School New Delhi and was faculty for the design and facilitation of the Teacher Empowerment Programs (Heritage Schools; DPS Ludhiana; St. Kabir's School Chandigarh; Sunbeam School Benaras, Pallikoodam School at Kottayam etc) and School Leadership Programs.
She conceptualized and facilitated Xplore,the one-month foundation program for Inventure Academy.
Shaheen's beliefs about education can be summed up in the following lines:
