Tips To Crack The
Examination Monster!
- Okay, so it is examination time and the
blues hit you. You've got butterflies in your stomach! Your appetite
has gone for a toss! But remember that you need to stay healthy
and fit. Have regular meals, even if they are in small portions.
Idlis, dosas and almonds soaked overnight are all good brain-food.
Also vitamins such as Vitamin B Complex are good for conserving
energy.
- Often, it is fear that overrides all that
you know, and clouds your thoughts, so you forget what you studied.
Appear for your exams secure in the knowledge that you know your
stuff and half the battle is won. Have confidence in yourself
and what you have learnt.
- Prepare a colourful timetable and stick
to it. Do not set impossible goals and make sure you give yourself
time off from studies.
- During the run up to the exams, if you
feel that you do not have adequate time to prepare, do not panic!
Take stock of the situation, by evaluating your portion. Look
at what you know and separate it from the rest. Then go through
each lesson, in a methodical fashion, covering as many areas as
possible. This way if there are objective questions in particular,
you will be able to answer them with more confidence.
- The fact that you like one subject over
another should not dictate the amount of time and initiative you
devote to a particular subject. Scores that you achieve in all
the subjects are equally important. Therefore, be prepared for
all your papers.
- Writing out answers to questions helps
gauge the time and effort required to answer your papers. Do this
at least once before you sit for your exams.
