- Some people like the quiet of night, while
others prefer a quiet corner to study in, irrespective of the
ambience. What is your style? If you like studying at night, rest
in the afternoon so you can stay alert in the wee hours. If you
prefer a quite corner, then request family members to avoid watching
television for a few days and to let you be for a while so that
you can concentrate.
- Talk to your parents or older siblings,
if you are nervous. Sharing your tensions helps ease them. Having
been there themselves, they will understand and offer you tips.
If nothing else, the caring will do you a world of good emotionally.
- While at the exam, take thirty-second breaks
to meditate and relax. Close your eyes and breathe deeply. These
short-breaks will de-stress you.
- While writing your answers, read the questions
carefully. Then list the answers in point form before you start
answering your paper, so that you do not forget them. This way,
even if you do not have time to complete your answer, the examiner
can see that you have outlined the answers to the question.
- Keep your handwriting clean and neat. This
presents a good paper and the examiner will be more inclined to
go easy on you.
- Think Positive! An 'I can do it' attitude
at this stage will work wonders. Believe in yourself and your
ability, and no exam in the world will seem insurmountable!
