The program focus for the Grade 5 outbound trip to Yercaud was ‘exploration and ‘looking inwards’ to discover the world within. They were guided on the path to self-discovery by opening up to new experiences and realising that “I am worthy’ and I am capable’. Great life lessons!
The students were divided into 3 groups – each focusing on different ways to build their self esteem, independence and the spirit of adventure!
One group learnt survival skills like principles of leave no trace camping, shelter making and different types of making a fire were taught. The students also learnt to make hot drinks in the forest.
Another group attempted the low ropes course which provided opportunities for competitive and collaborative activities.
While the third group remained in campus and engaged in learning initiatives. The students were engaged in multiple learning initiatives like All Aboard, Big Circle Small Circle, To be or knot to be, Cross Over, etc
The activities were interchanged every day so that all students got a chance to learn different life skills!
Outbound trips are an integral and compulsory part of the Beyond Academics Program at Inventure Academy. INME has collaborated with Inventure to create a graded curriculum, so that every year there is a fresh focus and area of learning against the backdrop of adventure activities in different locations. The students learn a variety of skills, both physical and mental, all of which helps to develop their confidence and capabilities.
