Inventurers at Round Square

Inventure Academy is one of the three select schools in Bangalore to be part of Round Square, a not-for-profit network of schools in 40 countries across five continents, that share a passion for experiential learning built around six IDEALS of Learning: Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service.

Held in Cape Town this year, the Round Square Conference saw 8 Inventurers accompanied by  Nooraine Fazal (Founding CEO and Managing Trustee) and Preet Benjamin (Head of KG and Primary and Round Square Rep) attending the event. It was one of the most enriching experiences for the students who participated in numerous activities centered around the ideals.

Read below some samples of the many activities that the students were involved in. Watch this space for more!

The amazing race had begun! It was amazing in every sense of the word, a thorough test of tenacity and teamwork. Notable activities included a crash course in Zulu dance, building towers with buckets using a rubber band connected to 15 strings and human disentanglement. With activities designed for success only through good communication, synergy and trust, the race provided a perfect bonding with our Baraza groups, our families here at RSIC 2017, whom we learnt with over the duration of the conference.

Yesterday, at the Round Square International Conference, we had many different activities related to the IDEALS. In Environmentalism, we had the amazing opportunity to collect and shape recycled bottle caps with our fun Baraza groups, into a rhino head! It was a tiring task but the end result was gorgeous. We also carved wood into the shape of tree branches representing the IDEALS. The one I thought was the most fun, was smudging paint on wood with our fingers.
