Dr. Saras Sarasvathy spent part of the day with us on 16 December 2015 when she met groups of students who presented some of the initiatives that we have been working on, including those that range from whole school, to department and student initiatives.
Prof Saras will work closely with the school to co-create a program on effectual thinking for K12 schools in partnership with her.
Professor Saras is the Isidore Horween Research Professor at the Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia. In addition to MBA and doctoral courses in entrepreneurship at Darden, she teaches in doctoral programs around the world including at IIMB.
In the same way that there are principles in Science, she believes that there are principles of Entrepreneurship which can and should be taught not only to potential entrepreneurs but to all students just as we teach science to everyone. Just as the aim of science education is to create a society capable of thinking and acting scientifically, the aim of entrepreneurship education is to create a society capable of thinking and acting entrepreneurially.
A workshop on The Effectual Entrepreneurship Interactive Guest Lecture with Professor Saras D Sarasvathy was held at Inventure Academy on Tuesday, 5 January 2016. Attended by Parents, Faculty and students of the school, the Interactive Lecture followed by a Workshop was much appreciated by everyone.
Students shared that “Prof Saras helped empower them to believe that they could be Entrepreneurs and successful ones at that”.
