On 13th Oct, in an attempt to discuss the decongestion of the Whitefield- Sarjapura stretch of SH-35, Inventure Academy invited neighbouring schools and Resident Welfare Associations and Groups to the campus.
Dr. M A Saleem, Addl.Comm.Police (Traffic), Bangalore along with his team visited Inventure Academy and addressed the Principals and school representatives in the area.
The meeting was well attended by Management/ Representatives of schools in the area together with members of Whitefield Rising.
Salient points discussed ranged from sponsoring three signal lights and a tow truck to truck movement on SH-35.
Dr. Saleem stressed that truck traffic being the main issue, the periphery of the ORR has resulted in a heavy traffic zone, exacerbating the traffic flow on Varthur- Sarjapur Road. While trucks have been banned between 7-11 am and 4-9 pm on SH-35, our schools do not fall under their jurisdiction area, being in the rural area. One of the solutions offered was to divert traffic at Hope Farm Junction.
A School zone cannot be created since this issue involves an entire road and not the 150 metres declared as a school zone.
All the schools in the area working together for a common solution was discussed in detail.
This was followed by another meeting with representatives of Lorry Owner’s Association, School Principals and other stakeholders to facilitate further dialogue to agree on, monitor & achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
