In today’s fast-paced world, educational travel has emerged as a powerful tool to inspire young minds and foster holistic development. By stepping outside the traditional classroom setting, students gain invaluable experiences that extend far beyond academic knowledge. One such transformative experience is camping, an adventure that combines outdoor education, team-building activities, and cultural immersion.
From October 2nd to 6th, students from Grades 4 and 5 of the Yeshwanthpur Campus embarked on an unforgettable educational journey to Coorg, a picturesque hill station in Karnataka. The trip was designed to immerse students in the local culture, teach them essential survival skills, and foster teamwork and an appreciation of nature.
Day 1 saw the young explorers arrive in Coorg, where they were immediately introduced to the wonders of the region. A nature walk led them to stunning waterfalls, and thereafter, a team-building activity that helped them bond and choose a team name: “The Active Champs.”
Day 2 brought exhilarating rock climbing adventures, guided by experienced instructors. Students conquered their fears, learned valuable safety measures, and celebrated their achievements as they scaled various climbing routes.
On Day 3, the students prepared for an overnight stay in the wilderness. They learned how to set up tents, embarked on a challenging trek, and experienced the thrill of camping under the open sky.
Day 4 offered a glimpse into the local village lifestyle. Students explored the village, interacted with residents, and learned about their culture, traditions, and way of life. The evening culminated in a talent show, where the students showcased their talent in singing, dancing, and acting.
On the final day, the students engaged in team-building games and celebrated their accomplishments. As they prepared to return home, they carried with them lasting memories of their adventure and a newfound appreciation for teamwork, nature, and the diverse cultures of India.
